I don't think you're alone in this attitude. I think most people here who have given this film a positive review without any critique included probably share it. But I do find it disheartening. The animation in this film is good, but I've seen multiple brickfilms with even combat animation that I felt was done better. So on a technical level this film doesn't bring anything new to the table, IMHO.
Storytelling, on the other hand, is something that is often a weak area in brickfilms. I think Keshen has written some pretty funny short comedies, and I enjoy those more than videos like this, but for me good filmmaking is about storytelling, and this video is just an action sequence with no context or meaning behind it.
If the film's "great animation" is its main redeeming quality, then that's technique. Think of it like music: would you rather listen to a flawlessly performed cycle of warm-up arpeggios or a symphony? Which do you think is more likely to be remembered in a few years?
Congrats on the internet success with the video, Keshen. My own mother had heard of it within a few days for reasons unrelated to my being a brickfilmer. I truly don't mean to belittle this kind of videomaking, as it is a valid route to go if you want people to watch and have fun watching your work on the internet. It certainly gets you noticed. I hope I don't sound like too much of a snob right now, but I feel like this is a discussion worth having!
