Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

But don't make it in black and white like Schindler's List because that would be boring. Make it in colour.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

Ok let me explain. I am basing this off of the Split. I wasn't there. I thought it would be cool for me to make a film about it and base it as a medeival battle. You know.... Poetic license. If you don't like it don't watch it. I should have never posted this thread. I'm sorry if offended anyone. I'm just trying to make something cool.

So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Don't be sorry you posted it, everyone has there own freedom of speech. No one was offended by it because there is literally nothing offensive about mentioning the Split, some people just over reacted over the most insignificant event, like the downfall of brickfilms.com was equivalent to World War 2 or something. mini/confused
I hate to see beginner animators feeling rejected.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

Honestly, I think it would be much more interesting to have something in the style of The Social Network rather than a medieval battle.

And seriously, read this: http://web.archive.org/web/200808030122 … _Chronicle

That will give you a lot of details on what happened, and you can ask more specific questions once you know how things went down.

This movie has the potential to be really good, but it has to be done right.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

Go for it, man. Don't make it a medieval battle though; you'd be much better off with either a more original storyline for that, or a more accurate depiction of events for the BiM/BF split.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

I'm thinking gritty crime drama.

It's fine if people talk about it, but if you didn't experience it then don't say you were there. I'm fine if you don't say that you were one that was affected.

Either way, I think this is good. I don't really know much about this site's history and the sites before it. I would love to see an epic film about a historic time in brickfilming history! I just want to know. I posted a thread hoping to be informed on the history, so you can get info from there too, if people reply.

Disclaimer: I am not advertising and/or promoting my own thread. Please do not tell me that I should not have talked about it, but who the heck cares, anyway?

There's already a thread on it.

Wait for the screenplay, then judge. I know I will.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

One way to make this movie without offend anyone would be making a movie like a documentary: a man goes around the world to discover what happened during the split. I don't know how good it could be if done this way, but it would be interesting to see a brickfilm documentary. By the way, I approve the making of the movie, I hope it turns out well.
I was there but almost didn't even know what was happening, since I wasn't a member. I mainly watched the releases and resources. I checked the forums sometimes.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

He can't do a documentary, he hasn't got the right film camera, and he's only 13 (I believe). DO NOT make this medieval, that will be just... pointless.

Brickfilmer a decade ago, now looking to relive the glory days mini/smile

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

I'd write a screenplay if you want.

Wouldn't you have been, like, 7 at that time?

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

Me? Er, well I would just write a screenplay based on the facts I guess.

By brickfilm documentary I don't mean literally fly around the world. I mean making a brickfilm where a minifigure flies around the world and meets other people and atlk about the fact.

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

Shall we recruit Michael Moore?

Re: The Day the Brickfilmers Rebeled

Not to sound like a frikkin' veteran here, but I was there, (I posted the famous ultra-large middlefinger picture in one of BF's threads at the time mini/smile ). I would make it more like the brickfilm ''Blood Feud'', but then in modern.

I'll make a thread to call the olds to this thread so we can get more info faster.

I am a nonfilming user...for now.
