Lightsaber Duels- Either an amature mistake or a higly appraised achievement. How about we go through some of these duels and discuss? Basically somebody posts a link to a lightsaber duel they like or think is worth mentioning and the community can discuss it. May the force be with you..

My biggest questions is- which is better?
Glowing Lightsabers, or just the Lego blade itself. I think it really depends on how its made. I've seen some terrible glowing lightsabers.

A glowing lightsaber done well can look fantastic, programs such as After Effects and Effectslab Pro can give great results.
Personally I think it loses something if you just leave the lego blade.
How about we go through some of these duels ...and the community can discuss it.
How about my trial at a lightsaber duel. In order to make it to the due date, I didn't animate the glow. Clicky!

Personally I think the glowing lightsaber give the scene that "real" effect. Other wise, the lightsaber itself dull and boring, so yes, I think it's better with an effect. It's even better with sound effects.

Anyway, lightsabers.
We actually happening to be animating a fight at the moment. (After school of course) And we find it quite difficult, but I must admit it is probably the most fun (that does not make grammatical sense) thing that we've animated.
I agree with Der Tarchin, it all boils down to how there made. For example, Nick durrons in his were pretty awsome, yet others done in "lsmaker" can be pretty bad xD
To be honest I find lego swordfights way more entertaining.
PS: This is the best lightsaber battle ever filmed.
