Topic: Closing Threads

This might not be the best place to post this, but it seemed advisable. BiM mods are closing some threads that we think shouldn't be closed. The roller coaster thread. That would have been very interesting in our opinion. We love roller coasters, and having a thread dedicated to them would be awesome. Also, the mac and PC thread, that would have been interesting to see everybody's preferences. Now we don't mean to flame the mods, we respect them for having to put up with arrogant users like us, but we just feel that they need to stop cracking down on "This site has to be an organized court room" and instead say "This needs to be a free forum with few, but important restrictions. That's just our opinion, thanks! mini/bigsmile  Oh, and we do apologize for our multitude of posts, we will try to keep it down to a minimum.

Re: Closing Threads

Having a thread about Mac and PCs on the internet is about as productive as having one about the existence of god, no one will agree on anything and no ones opinion will be changed. I can't comment on the roller coaster thread, seems like a thread like that would sink its self

Re: Closing Threads

Good point Sloth, still though, we feel that it is necessary to try it out before closing it, but thats just our opinion.

Keep in mind that you've been here for a total of three months. Members of the moderating team, such as Smeagol, Squash, and RP Hoogle have been a part of the brickfilming community for four to seven years, and as such have the experience to recognize negative factors you may not see.

Re: Closing Threads

What Jargon said, in the instance of the Mac vs. PC thread we've had so many of those in the past and they just create pointless bickering among members...

As far as the roller coaster thread, I was a bit disappointed to see it locked because I am something of a roller coaster enthusiast but then I had to think that maybe Noodle was right.  Some years ago people would have handled a thread like that maturely but these days it would be more likely to become a thread full of photographs, "In before the lock" posts and images, and lolcats, I'm afraid.  I figured Noodle was probably right in guessing that it would be a problem thread, so I didn't want to undermine his authority as a mod by unlocking it.

Re: Closing Threads

Okay, thanks for clarifying, once again we really meant nothing against the staff.
