Topic: Reviews?

I am sort of new here, and no one has recognized my films. I haven't gotten reviews for any of them. I was a little annoyed, because if a Mindgame film or a Smeagol film is uploaded it gets reviews and a lot of attention right away. What's with that? mini/madhead

Re: Reviews?

People rush to see there films because they are popular. We really don't get much feedback either, except on a few films.

Re: Reviews?

Let's think of it this way.

Say you were going to the movies, what film would you choose?

- A film by some random director that hasn't gotten any good/or any reviews
- A film by a well-known director that has amazing film skills and all of his films have great reviews.

Personally I would go to the well-known director's movie.

Also, Smeagol and MindGame are both known for their amazing brickfilming skills. You aren't. People know that whatever they've made, it's probably going to be good. They don't know you, so they are less likely to watch your film just on the fact that they don't know who you are, or what your animation skills are.

Re: Reviews?

yep, you generally have to build up a positive reputation if you want many people to watch your films, although most films posted in "releases" get at least a little feedback.  Forum posters have no obligation to watch everything that's posted there so most are going to just go for videos by people who are tried and true, or newcomers who make something really amazing.

It's not as though you've been ignored, your latest film's thread has 10 replies, a few being you, but nonetheless that's pretty good.

Yes, be grateful you get any feedback at all.  /me looks at some of his deserted threads.

Sorry if I seemed ungrateful.

Re: Reviews?

Another way to go about it is to ask people in the chat room if they could review your film. Remember though that there's a thin line between asking a question and nagging. mini/wink

Re: Reviews?

If your new, don't expect to be swamped with comments straight away. You have to build a reputation for making good films first
