Okay, so I really want to make my Wild West series, but for the first 3 episodes I need to show the exterior of a mansion...Thing is...I have very little tan or brown bricks, and because this is the Wild West I don't want to use grey or black pieces. How could I build it? I don't really want to buy a bin of bricks, but I will if I have to. Should I just make the mansion like a little shack? Help!

Either write it so that it's a smaller place, or go buy mad bricks. They're pretty cheap if you buy a lot!
Perhaps it's too late to help but, western mansions weren't always tan-ish. They had light blue colors, a few bricks (not LEGO bricks) here and there and white side rails!
So if you have light blue bricks you could use them for some areas, or even some white, if all else fails, print off/buy brown paper, and build your mansion with any color bricks and tape the paper to the parts you need brown/tan.
That helps, sort of...right?

My best guess is you could either not make the outside to scale or use CGI.
Exterior shots are usually CG for structures that big. It seems the most convenient option, since the shot is only a few seconds long and you would only need one frame.
However, since I am a CG Nazi, I would recommend just building it yourself. You will get more brownie points, and its the best looking option. Besides, you could use the bricks for something else later - that's the joy of Brickfilming

You could change the colour of the bricks in post, do the pic in that brownish mode, dammit I forget the name, in the effects that is found on most cameras.

Might be a little late, but on that idea about changing the colour of the bricks in post, you could do the entire film in black and white or a heavy sepia tone, and just find another colour which looks similiar to brown or tan under the filter.

Examples of this, is like the starting scenes in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. They use sepia there then change into colour for the rest of the film.With the exception of a scene in the middle showing pictures of their travels.
