What are your opinions on using glue to assist you in your animations - things like hair, props, hats.
How do you guys get around moving hair and hats during head turns? (I've heard about slightly shaving the inside of the head, so its less tight.)
What about gluing a prop to a hand, or gluing things on the set like tools in a barrel so they don't shift?
I like glue. It tastes fantastic.
Honestly though I've never used glue, and I'd be reluctant to do so. I usually just move stuff carefully and fix the hair if it gets out of place. I do use sticky tac and double-sided tape from time to time to hold props in hands in place.
I would definitely NOT glue things together. It would be stick and it would get all over the set. If you glue things together, you will not be able to use those parts for anything else, and it could ruin it. Also some animation techniques use moving the parts around, like the hair or props in the minifig's hand.

I just use clay or Silly-Putty for stuff like that.
So far I've always used the head-shaving technique for easier head movements, however when I finally start on a larger project (Reanimated) I wouldn't shy away from gluing the characters if needed.
I just put a tiny blob of Blu-Tak under the hair and it keeps it solid. I wouldn't object to using glue, but only when there aren't any other options.
