Topic: Studio setup help

Once again, I am new here, here is a picture of my little photography setup.

1. Overhead lamps.
2. Diffused desktop lamp.
3. Wax paper to diffuse the lamp (same with #4
4. Small diffused desk lamp.
5. Cheesy tripod. I need a new one.
6. Macro light tent
7. Brickfilm tool box.
8. board. to try to keep the film steady.
The problem is that every time I animate and them upload them to my computer it looks really shaky, even when I put the tripod on a board, do I need a more sturdy tirpod? Any suggestions?

I can definitely get a good quality image though. mini/smile

Re: Studio setup help

It doesn't matter if there is a board underneath, there is a carpet. Most of us here use a table and tape our sets down, I don't think you did that, correct me if I am wrong. mini/smile

I sticky-tacked my set down.

Re: Studio setup help

Do you have a test you could upload, for us to see how shaky it is.

Re: Studio setup help

Your not taking frames through the camera and not your compute, right? Thats the problem, you see, even though you can't notice it, the camera moves a bit every time you take a picture manually. What is your camera? You might be able to hhok your computer up to it. mini/wink

Re: Studio setup help

See, I have a Canon Powershot Sx110 IS and can hook it up to the computer via iStopmotion, but there is absolutely no control over the focus or any other controls and menus.

Re: Studio setup help

Here it shows all cameras supported and unsupported by remote capture with iStopmotion
EDIT:Good, since you have the focus on try and make a lego case or of some type to keep on your setup, Nathan Wells has done the same and gotten good results

Re: Studio setup help

I wouldn't zoom in if I were you, because then, the focus is messed up.

Re: Studio setup help

yea move the camera instead if possible.

Re: Studio setup help

Zooming doesn't mess up the focus, it just makes the picture pixelated.

It's be more worth your while sticking your camera to your desk, instead of supporting it on a tripod. It makes it very steady and if you knock it you could easily mess up your shot.

Re: Studio setup help

ok. I'll try some new techniques. Thanks.
