Re: A Day for Heroes

Done. Adjustments were minor, so if you were expecting this to jump up to 8/ and 9/10s and a Staff Favorite, I'm sorry to disappoint.

Before I start, one thing I do want to address from your original post... the fact that you're 13 and using freeware is irrelevant. If a well-drawn MS Paint muzzle flash could earn the same "Effects" rating as a well-composited AE muzzle flash complete with scene re-lighting effects, the rating system would become meaningless. All films have to be held to the same standard, and so we review only the final film--not the filmmaking process.

This was definitely an entertaining film, Filmfire, and I'm actually glad we had problems with the ratings because otherwise I probably wouldn't have seen it. The focus on camera angles showed, as your cinematography was easily the strongest point of the film, though a few of the shots were framed awkwardly. Your animation went back and forth, as there were some smooth and convincing sections, but a few weird hiccups as well. The biggest sore spot for me was the sound... the mix wasn't bad, but the quality was quite low and a number of the effects you chose didn't sound right for the situation. But in spite of its flaws, I enjoyed watching it, and that's the overall goal. I'm looking forward to what you put out next.

With all due respect Noodle, I don't want you here. - Ratboy Productions
