Topic: 'The Wild West'

Okay. So, I haven't made a brick-film in a very long time, and I want to get back in the habit of making it. SO...

I was thinking of making a mini-series, releasing a brick-film a week throughout the summer. I think this may be a cool idea, and, I'm so inspired by Red Dead Redemption right now, (Yeah, I'm a dork), I would like to make one based in the Wild West. I was thinking a murder-type mystery story, and each one will end in a cliff-hanger, tying into the next one. So far, I have the first 2 episodes written, and I would like your guys' opinions. Are they too short? Are they not written well enough? Is there something inaccurate for the time-period? So, if you guys could just skim these, they're VERY short scripts, they will probably only end up being 30 seconds a week, so not too much work. Here they are:

Episode 1: http://www.mediafire.com/?znwnou03blw
Episode 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?immmmwzhzgz

Love this idea. Do it.
Before you start filming, you should watch some spaghetti westerns, too. Sergio Leonie. Dollars Trilogy. Get some inspiration for the kind of shots and music you could use. You know, wide panoramas and stuff.
This will be awesome. I love westerns.

Re: 'The Wild West'

I new you would be commenting Clint Eastwood mini/tongue

I've been watching a lot of old 1940-1960 Western's. Thank mini/smile

Haha, am I really that predictable?
Speaking of Clint Eastwood, you should have a "Man With No Name" type character. Someone that has all the best lines and is incredibly cool.

Re: 'The Wild West'

I´m doing a western too!

Re: 'The Wild West'

Awesome, I'm really glad on the reception I'm getting! I'm writing the first couple of episodes before June 15th hits (SUMMER BREAK!), so I should be able to pump them out pretty quickly.

This should be good. mini/tongue

Re: 'The Wild West'

Good work, I'd recommend watching "Winds of the Wasteland" (1936) for inspiration on catching the Western atmosphere.

Re: 'The Wild West'

ENNIO MORRICONE.

Re: 'The Wild West'

BUMP

Here's the 3rd episode. I'm finished up to episode 5, but, I probably won't release anymore.

Anyways, I won't start making these until the week of June 20-27, so, should I start casting yet?

Re: 'The Wild West'

Awesome concept, hope you can churn out one a week cause we're all gonna wanna see em.

I love how you're keeping them short (maybe too short?) and the cliffhangers etc should be awesome.

One request: you gotta shoot this in 2.40:1 like the old greats.

Re: 'The Wild West'

I've been making a western series, based on a "man with no name" character since March, so I'll be interested to see how yours comes along.
