Re: YouTube

At the bottom of the about page of your channel, there is a links section, click the pencil icon to the right of that, and it will give you the option to add links.  Simply copy and paste the URL of the page you want to link to. (I used my BIM profile page)

Re: YouTube

Well there are two things you could do,

You could add a link to the main site page (or the Home page):

Or you could link directly to your profile on BiM (I will use William Osborne's as an example. I am using his as an example as I know him as an acquintance. Also you can look up anyone's profile on BiM, just so you know that.):

So here's how you do it:

Step 1-Go to the My Channel section of your Youtube account:

Step 2-Hover over your banner (the big picture at the top of your channel) Then click the pencil icon:

A little box should come up that says, "Edit links" and "Edit channel art" Click edit links.

Step 3-It will take you to the About section of your channel. Here you can add a link. Then it's as simple as copying and pasting the link into the section:

Hope this helps. PM me if you still have any questions.

EDIT: Sorry MarkNelson. Didn't see your post as I was too busy putting mine up. I guess that makes mine a bit redundant. Ah well, always good to have two answers, right?

Re: YouTube

Thanks for the help guys, but I still seem to be having issues. I have done as both of you have said, and I have clicked on the pencil, but it only gives me the option to edit my channel art. Any ideas? mini/confused

Re: YouTube

This is a tutorial about how to add a facebook icon to your YouTube banner. I know you don't want to add facebook, but you simply do the very same thing that this tutorial tells you, but with adding a BIM icon instead;

By the way, if you're under 18 and/or in certain countries, some features of YT may be disabled, so you may not be able to do it at all. mini/sad

I replied and then someone gave a better one.

I do not brickfilm anymore, but you can see my live action stuff here.

Re: YouTube

Does anyone know why my Youtube page looks different than most other people's? Is it because I don't have many videos yet, or am I doing something wrong. Here's my channel.

Re: YouTube

From what I've read, it appears you have to set up your customized home page layout before the other tabs will appear, otherwise you just get one consolidated page.

Re: YouTube

Hello, I was recently thinking of changing my name from Raptor Studios to Fearless Sword. I thought I would change it because Raptor Studios seems to be too generic. Whats your input on this? Should I stay Raptor Studios or should I switch to Fearless Sword? I want people to find my channel easier with a less generic name. I am also informed that I can not change my bricksinmotion name, but I don't think it would make much of a difference. Thanks for the help! mini/smile

Re: YouTube

You can change your BiM name. I don't know about fearless sword, though. It would make a good power metal album name but I don't know about channel name. Your choice though.

I do not brickfilm anymore, but you can see my live action stuff here.

Re: YouTube

I would advise against changing your online name unless you're ENTIRELY sure you want it to be that thing. Fearless Sword isn't exactly unique, in my opinion (but maybe that's just me. It personally sounds more like an inanimate object than a person/"studio"/brand). mini/wink

Re: YouTube

I was just messing around with nouns and adjectives and that seemed sort of interesting. You guys are probably right. Thanks for the advice. mini/bigsmile

Re: YouTube

Raptor Studios would be easier to remember IMO.

Re: YouTube

I like the name Raptor Studios. It is much more memorable than Fearless Sword. I'd recommend you keep the name.

Re: YouTube

I now have enough views on some of my videos and a growing number of subscribers, that I have considered maybe monetizing my channel. By doing so, I would also be able to customize my thumbnails to make my videos look more professional. Do you think it's a good idea? Are there many cons I should consider before doing so? Please let me know!

Re: YouTube

Just wanted to throw this out there: pretty sure you don't have to monetize your videos to get custom thumbnails. I think you just need to "authenticate your account" or something like that, which involves them calling you with a code that you type in on the site. I think just go to this page and look for where it talks about custom thumbnails. Not saying you shouldn't monetize your videos, but if that's the only reason you want to, I don't think you really need to.

Re: YouTube

Just to confirm what twickabrick said, I can upload custom thumbnails and I don't monetize my videos .

Re: YouTube

Oh, I didn't realize that's all you have to do - thanks for making that clear. I might consider monetizing my account in the future, but the only reason why I wanted to do that right now was so I could customize thumbnails.

Re: YouTube

Why wait to monetize? You won't get money for any of the old ad views if you decide to monetize "after you get famous" (or something like that. I hear that a lot strangely). Monetize now, let the few cents come in every few months, and in a few hundred years, you may eventually make enough to get a check in the mail!

But yeah, you just need to verify to get custom thumbs.

Re: YouTube

The argument for not monetizing: Why make your viewers sit through an ad or have to close one of those stupid pop up ads if you aren't going to make any money off of them anyway?
