Re: YouTube

Now that the Community forum has been re-opened to the public, I have moved this thread to the more appropriate forum.

Re: YouTube

Well, its been a year or so since we first posted a film and we just hit 100 sub's. I've never been so happy! 1000 here we come! mini/tongue

Re: YouTube

Was looking at the analytics for my most recent brickfilm upload. Out of the around 700 views so far, only 30-40 of those came from my subscribers. I think most of my 744 (yes I count) subscribers have died... mini/eek

Re: YouTube

Well it finally happened. My most recent videos were the victim of a 'dislike bomb' attack. Noticed a big spike in views on the affected videos as well, but the analytics haven't been fully updated yet. Trying to figure out if it was random, or if I made someone mad.

Re: YouTube

Three dislikes does not a bomb make. Unless YouTube is being weird and you're seeing more than three dislikes.

Re: YouTube

Yeah, three dislikes isn't something to worry about. It just means three people didn't enjoy the video. It happens.

The reason why you may be getting less views than your subscribers is because the subscriptions box on the front page sometimes just doesn't show new content. Quite often I've missed content from the people I've subscribed to because my box just didn't want to notify me. The odds of YouTube actually fixing this are zero, which is odd because surely the one thing YouTube wants us to do is watch more videos.

That reminds me: YouTube are celebrating their 10th anniverssary. It's making me nostalgic for 2007, back before the robots took over.

Re: YouTube

There were more like 20-30 dislikes spread over a couple of my most recent videos, all coming from the same source. (And the same user, logging onto different accounts.) However most of them were removed which I found a bit strange. It must have been someone's attempt at trolling.

Re: YouTube

Don't worry about others' dislikes.  Make the best film you can, satisfy the messages you want to tell, and although you should take creative criticism maturely, don't let a bunch of dislikes bother you.

Re: YouTube

I don't want to be one of those people who brags and waves stuff in peoples' faces, but I'm really proud of this achievement and since BiM has been such a huge part of my development as a brickfilmer, I wanted to share it.

Basically, I've just got back from holiday and my subscriber count and viewcount have suddenly taken a massive leap, and I've reached 1 million views. It's honestly amazing to think that my rubbishy Lego animations have now been seen just over a million times, and I never even considered that they might be back when I made my first brickfilm.

I really want to say a big thank you to this community, both to people still active and to those who've been part of the community since I joined just before the move over to BiM. I know the last year's been a bit rocky (my bad) and at times I haven't liked what I've become (also my bad) but as a community you've all been so supportive through thick and thin, and I really appreciate all the pieces of feedback and kind words and I don't think I'd still be making brickfilms without them.

So thanks for 1 million views everyone mini/smile  I really can't put into words how grateful I am for BiM.

Re: YouTube

One million views is certainly an achievement worth celebrating in any case, so congratulations!  (It's more than I'll probably ever achieve with my channel.)  Seems like your channel has gotten quite a boost lately, what with you getting the Scooby-Doo sets and all.

A million views isn't cool, you know what's cool? A billion views.

I know you've done your research so you know Adsense money isn't a big part of my life, but at the moment I could buy a hundred boxes of Apple Jacks and turn them into my box fort.
