Topic: The Star Wars Appreciation Thread

Hello, I just want to talk to everyone about, what I have been seeing recently. People think, Star Wars is the "gayest" thing in the world, because now all the little kids have seen it, and they think it is SOO awesome. Now that this has happened the Star Wars franchise, is so cliched that people scold you for liking it. But when one really watches it, George Lucas probably didn't intend it to be a children thing, and the ideas are quite phenomenal.

Actually, The Clone Wars is how he originally envisioned Star Wars and it has always been his dream.

Re: The Star Wars Appreciation Thread

His pilot name was Luke Starkiller as well

Oh and Lighsabers where as common as blasters in the pilot idea but then they ditched it. To bad, SW would have been awesome if everyone had sabres

Re: The Star Wars Appreciation Thread

Well, back when Star Wars was new was when it was good. George Lucas is just trying to milk as much money as he can out of the Star Wars name now. It's sad how money took a perfectly good franchise straight to hell.

Re: The Star Wars Appreciation Thread

Well *looks at name* I think you all know where I stand. mini/lol Besides The originol trilogy and the books aare awsome. If you ever wanted a more adult Star Wars go pick up Republic Commando, or any of the Timothy Zahn books now. Besides I have to add one more thing to everybody dissing Clone Wars. "Rookies". Nuff said.

I don't need to be reminded of that.

History500, jimmybob, this is Star Wars Appreciation.  Not un-appreciation.  Take your expletive deleted attitude and your expletive deleted elsewhere.

Re: The Star Wars Appreciation Thread

Speaking of which, I'm currently re-editing my own cut of A New Hope. I'm combining the pre-Special Edition with the 2004 DVD release, and adding in some deleted scenes as well

After the escape pod is jettisoned there is a scene where Luke sees the space battle and tells his friends (including Biggs) about it.
And then after C-3PO flags down the sandcrawler there's a scene where Luke and Biggs have a lengthy conversation about the Rebellion, etc.

I also didn't like how the Wolfman alien in the cantina was replaced by a CGI reptillian alien in two places, so I replaced that again as well.

And, of course, Han shoots Greedo before he can do anything. mini/smile

I am curious what anyone else would change if they had the option.

If you'll notice, at this point and time Luke is a girl, and Han, Chewie and Obi-wan make up a total of two people. They split up the Han/Obi-wan and Han/Chewie characters in case you wondered how it was set up originally.

Re: The Star Wars Appreciation Thread

History: Either you like Star Wars, or you dont. If you dont, then your in the wrong thread.

I suppose everyone with Lightsabers would get really annoying. Think about how many fights there are in Episode IV with guns, and think how long it takes to kill a guy with a lightsaber. Combine them both, and the Nostalgic Critic will be drooling.

It sounds cool, but it would just get repetitve.

I've known that since I was 10.

I agree that was the problem with the "New Game Improvements" to Star Wars: Galaxies. You could chose force sensitive from the get go and everyone runnng around as a jedi or sith with a lightsaber totally ruined the game for all of us other players (I myself was a smugler mini/smile ).
