Topic: Black sticky-tack

I have found black sticky-tack to be very useful in filming as it is easier to hide that bright blue sticky-tack.

Unfortunately on one makes it, so I made some myself ! mini/smile

All you do is take some sticky-tack and squish it out flat in a table, then you colour it black with a sharpie, kneed it in and repeat until it is black throughout.

Let me know if this helps.

I has no sticky tac cause' I mixed it with Silly-Putty.

Re: Black sticky-tack

I actually used this trick in this video (on the Skelly's arms), it worked perfectly. I used a permanent marker to colour the tac.

Re: Black sticky-tack

Wow thats some great tac!

Re: Black sticky-tack

... What IS sticky tac?
I've heard of it before, but what is it? Is it similar to silly putty or plasticine?
I can never find it at any stores I go to, so that's why I ask.

Re: Black sticky-tack

Its called blu-tack in the UK and a host of other places, and sometimes its sold under a brand name; so the chances are its just called something else in all those shops you've looked in.

Re: Black sticky-tack

JK I found this thing called Blu stick at Home Depot. So thats an equivalent to Blu tac or sticky tac.

Re: Black sticky-tack

Sticky tack is basically very sticky and mouldable clay. It's remniscent of chewed out chewing gum, only it's more sticky and more clay-ish (and less dirty). Sticky tack is very handy to stick your minifig to a wall, or to make sure your minifig doesn't fall down on a smooth surface. The possibilities are endless. ENDLESS I tell ya!

Re: Black sticky-tack

Would plasticine be a good substitute for it? (I have tons of it. mini/tongue)

Re: Black sticky-tack

Not really; it's not nearly as sticky and mouldable as sticky tack.

Re: Black sticky-tack

its more rubbery than clay and is made out of plastic I believe.

No, plasticine is oily. Not a good idea to mix it with Lego
