Hmmmmm, I have uncovered a secret within BertL's avatar:
...................
I copied and pasted the image code into Gimp, and every layer of the GIF (yes, GIF) was this.

I see no difference or secret.
Guys, he has the same avy from back in the day, before this site was recreated, and back then animated avvy's were allowed, and now their not, but he kept his. End discussion.

GEE THANKS THAT SURE CLEARS THINGS UP
I knew that, and I'm sure a lot of other people did, too. I also assumed that his moderator status allowed him to do this either way.
I was more wondering why the heck he's got a cigarette in there.
Avatar trends are lame.
I hope this uprising in Egypt is put down soon, I hate riots.
@Unilego: Because he's a rebel.
Did anyone else hear that Egypt shut down their internet, or was this already mentioned?
Sad isn't it, I hope that it never comes to that in the US. (Or whatever country you live in.)

I'd get used to them, by the looks there'll be a few more coming.

Put down? By whom, the oppressive regime and Mubarak, Egypt's ruler for thirty years? Just because riots are messy and, often times, destructive doesn't mean that they're always wrong.
I understand hoping for peace - I've got a friend studying over in Egypt right now. Hoping that movements like this are put down, though, seems a bit cold, though.
You have a great point. I just found some of those images were a bit chilling on the news.
This uprising and world chaos is a perfect time to take over the world
for me, lemme get my classy hat.
Revolutions are what have brought the world to where it is today. The American Revolution, the French Revolution, the October Revolution, the 1830 and 1848 Revolutions, and the 1989 Revolutions all changed Western politics forever.
I just hope this means that Islamic countries all over the Muslim world will secularize. Many places such as Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, and other places have some form of Sha`ria law, be it minor or, comprising the entire legal system.

The October Revolution isn't a very good example. Soviet Russia isn't exactly a model example of Freedom. And to be honest the French Revolution wasn't too good either, Napoleon basically tried to conquer the world.
There are only a few Revolutions where the people ended up better off. Most the time loads of people die, a dictator who is on the opposite side of the political spectrum as his predecessor takes over, and then more people die. Democracy as a whole is a rare thing. The countries who have got it, just got lucky.
Smoking is bad for you. Mmmkay?
Thumbs up to The Dark Knight siggy! ![]()

But did it change for the better?
I'm going to have to say, the October revolution did both, good and bad. Although it probably did more bad, the October revolution gave hope to people who had none, even if they were not in Russia. For example, Vietnam. IF the October revolution never occurred, Vietnam most likely would have never gone communist and have gotten rid of it's dictators, such as the French, Vietnam today is quite a nice place, and I would love to go for a holiday there. I don't know what reactions I will get for this, but I don't mean any harm. I'm just stating what I have learnt about Vietnam.
