Which kinda sucks because I only bought my 360 at the beginning of the year, this generation was supposed to go on for longer but computers have advanced waaaay beyond consoles now that if they're going to compete then they'll HAVE to update soon. All the consoles are still using DX9 for crying out loud while PCs are just about to go onto DX11.
I trust the PS4 will happen

Wii and PS3 don't use DirectX, which is strictly a Microsoft product. Not sure about the xbox 360 but I'm pretty sure it dosen't use DirectX either
Xbox 360 uses DX9 which is why they couldn't put Crysis on it.

Sony's already said that they'll be selling games for the ps3 until 2016, so I doubt the ps4 will be coming next year.
Sony/Naughty Dog release a trilogy on every playstation console, and given the sucess of the uncharted series, uncharted 3 will definitely come before the next playstation generation, and that probably won't come until next year.
And given they'll have only just released the motion controller, I think they'll try and get as much out of that as possible.
And next year is too soon anyway, there's no demand or need for another generation of playstation anyway. The xbox my be severly underpowered and outdated nowadays, but the ps3 still has state of the art processing capabilities. The ps3 has some of the best looking games on the market, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 are so much better than what most PC's and xbox's can produce. The only reason you'll see a !@#$ looking ps3 game is becuase the developers have been lazy.

Why would they name it the Xbox 640? That sounds like a really bad name.
I'm now playing Pokemon SoulSilver on my new DSLite. Silver's always been my favourite out of all of them, so I'm having a huge nostalgia kick at the moment. 
I also got a Lugia model because I preordered which now has pride of place in my dragon collection.
Now I just need to figure how to connect to my wireless router without changing the security from WPA to WEP (there are five computers in my house that connect to that thing - do you have any idea how long it'd take me to sort them out?). The moment I do that, expect my friend code to be posted.
That makes me almost want to get a DS...almost
I, however am getting a PS3 (cue Xbox fanboys)
I've been saving since christmas, and I finally have enough to get it.
Problem is, my mom and dad say I can't get it until the end of the school year.
Do any of you know any good first-person shooters like Halo (Xbox 360) and Haze(PS3) for the XBOX 360 or the PS3?

It may surprise you to know that they only stopped making the PSone in 2006 when the PS3 came out. They're still making PS2s and selling games as a PS4 next year is very possible.
There is a demand for another generation, like I said consoles are at least two steps behind PCs and probably more. The PS4 is a definite possibility which would make Nintendo and M$ follow suit and release their own next gen consoles.
I sense Sony is up for a win.
