Yeah, first one looks good except for the somewhat excessive language. Second one...eh, unless I can skip the implied sex scene it ain't gonna happen.

It's not that I don't want to get LBP, it looks awesome. But...eh, my bro won't play because he's got a 'I gotta be able to kick some a$$ or I won't play it' type attitude when it comes to gaming. And LBP offers nothing except slaps to your fellow gamer. I was rather disappointed you couldn't do ANYTHING violent. My parents would play with me, but...eh, let's face it. Old folks don't do well at playing games. mini/tongue

So... You want a violent video game, but not too violent, and even a hint of language or sex and it's out. I donno, that seems a tad bit picky to me. If you want a good "Kick a$$" video game, it will probably have some blood and swearing. Most implied sex in video games (especially in T rated games) are very VERY mild. Like, they could be in a PG movie. Don't let these tiny things keep you from playing a good game, you should totally play the Uncharted games. I don't think the first one has any bad stuff in it.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

Call of Duty World at War can have the content censored, but censorship doesn't work if you're playing online. It turns off the heavy gore and swearing.

Same with Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

I actually do have a 360 and a PS3. We have Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the PS3 and LittleBigPlanet, and the whole family still prefer the 360 to the PS3. Have you ever wondered why it's called the 360? A 360 degrees turn is a full circle, and the 360 can do everything (metaphorically speaking). So there.

Dat true, usually i'm not allowed to buy M rated games, but my parents allowed me to buy CoD WaW because of the content filter. While playing online I just turn the volume down when i'm playing as those potty mouth americans.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

@Droid/Dr007 The only 360 exclusives that I'd bother looking at would be Mass Effect 2 and L4D2,and even then I'd rather Killzone, Infamous, LBP and especially Uncharted 2.

I swear I'm getting addicted to Bloons Tower Defense 3.

OK then. A hint of sexuality and language is fine, and as long as the violence isn't gory it's fine. Hell, inFamous has a good bit of all three. I was talking the excessive stuff. But if Uncharted isn't as excessive as the reviewer said it was, I'll definitely look into it.

@ maggosh:
Heaps of people are suddenly playing it, which is weird seeing as it's been around for years.

Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!

There can be no winner to the console war.

Microsoft: Yeah, the Xbox 360 is pretty sweet. Its got a good variety of games (Read: CoD and Halo. Oh, and definitely Portal). Although there is the whole RROD Issue, that's pretty much gone. I mean, the 360 has been out for years. I'd have to say that most original 360s have been replaced with the better-motherboard models. I, for example, just got the RROD last week. About 14 months into my 360's life. I am probably on the last batch of RROD's, aside from really obscure cases (where say, the motherboard melts). Although MS dropped the ball with the RROD, they then put on gloves and picked up the now thoroughly muddy ball with the warranty. The one bummer that every 360 owner would agree with is the XBL Fee.

Sony: Yeah, Sony's PlayStation Family has been on the market longer. So what? PCs have been gaming for longer. Which proves nothing. The PS3 also has its games. Its got CoD, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, amongt others. I do not own a PS3 or PSP, but I do have a PS2. I really do think that the PS3 has the potential to topple the 360 (if you don't take game titles into account, Halo fanboiz take note). If the PS3 accumulated a player base able to challenge the Xbox, it could easily win. The PS3's got Graphics, Blu-Ray, good games and free online multiplayer. The only disappointment is out of Sony's reach: Players. More people have 360s. Me and my friends all have 360s and play MW2 together. And then there's that one kid with a PS3...AWKWARD. And most 360 gamers won't switch because nobody else has. I'm guilty of that; I stay on 360 because well, everyone else does.

Nintendo: Sony and Microsoft do have a disadvantage to Nintendo: seniority. Nintendo's NES was THE original console. Sony, has other projects like Camcorders and TV's. Microsoft has Windows and Software. Their game development is not a side project per se, but perhaps a mere subentity. Nintendo was founded solely as a gaming company. Unfortunately, the took the cute, and comical route. Microsoft chose to kill Guilty Spark. Sony chose to kill General Shepherd. Nintendo chose to save the princess. And save the princess. And save the princess. And save the princess. And save the princess. Now that the Wiimote is the Nintendo control peripheral, there's no turning back. Nintendo is done for controllers. While the Wiimote is highly advanced, its not suited for gaming well. The rival controllers fit your hand like a glove, place buttons where your hand normally goes, and gives you more options. Contollers: 4 main buttons, 2 contol sticks (also buttons), 4 top-mounted buttons, start/select. Wiimote: 2 awkwardly placed buttons, 1 normal button, 1 trigger, D-Pad, + and - (Start/Select), optional Contol Stick, 2 optional top-mounted buttons. And a lot of pointing.

I'm going to end here, by saying that there will be no clear winner. And that a surprise Sega Attack would probably destroy the competition. But alas, Sega is but a memory, living on in our hearts and out thumbs...

Is it just that one or do all of them have that feature?

Just that one, but it has more swearing and blood then all the others combined, so it needs it.

Oh and I should play Mass Effect part 1 first, when you're finished part 1 you'll run to the shop and you'll buy part 2.
How do I know? I'm playing Mass Effect 2 for the THIRD time now, and I'm still not bored with it.

Because PC gaming is dead.

To me, anyway.
