If the PS3 had Halo, what would the top console be?
It would still be PS3
Let's face it, M$ is a new player on the console market. The 360 is only it's second console!
Sony made the PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and PSP so it has at least twice the experience of M$
Might I also mention that Sony only stopped making the original PlayStation in 2006 which is when PS3 came out? I would think that proves it.
Nintendo doesn't factor into the console war, Nintendo shall forever be in a class of awesomeness all of it's own.
And ATI don't have better cards, they may have 'faster' cards but their hardware sucks and you'll get more out of 800MHZ of Nvidia than 800MHZ of ATI.

Dr007 you seem like just every other PS3 fan boy, and I despise that group of bottom dwellers. They only care about graphics and processors, and not what the focus of what games are suppose to be, fun.
This is console vs console, not game vs game 
If we wanna talk games, yea 360 has it down because M$ has the money to have everything coded for 360 and then ported to PS3 and PC so it's glitchy as hell.
One of the few reasons I chose the 360 actually.

Ahum, no. I just can't live myself into a tv screen sitting relaxed on a couch in a living room. I like to play it on my computer with everything else quiet, sitting at me desk, staring into the screen like there's nothing else around it. THAT's why. And I just like to play with keyboard/mouse. Mass Effect 1, and on the Xbox sucks hard when it comes to shooting. It's great for kids, but a grown-up gamer should really get a pc (which most of them have BTW)

I have a 360 and know peoples with PS3s
As for KBM vs Gamepads, it only takes practice then you can use a gamepad just as easily. I was playing borderlands on PC with my mate after over 30 hours on 360 and I just couldn't function. So I plugged my 360 pad up and hey presto I was back in action.
STP, there will be a winner in the end I reckon. You only have to look at the history of console games to see consoles dropping out of the running, each generation is smaller than the previous and the current consoles are fighting to stay in the running.
I honestly don't see Xbox surviving the next generation, Natal is going to make it take on Nintendo which is suicide because as I said before Nintendo know what they're doing. Xbox will be fighting on two fronts.
Although, with M$ being as incredibly rich as they are, they could theoretically hang in the fight longer and competing on both fronts bring prices down dramatically thus bringing about a surprise victory on their part.
Then Apple will probably get back into the console market, that would be interesting.

LittleBigPlanet has awesome 2-player. Yes, I know coming from me that was a predictable answer, but it really is great.
Or, if you already have LPB (which you really, really should), then you should get a Buzz game.
Also, if you can download games then Rag Doll Kung-Fu is absolutely essential. Best 4-player on PS3.

Eh, the number of manly E - T games is rather limited. Have you already checked out the Uncharted games?
"Manly" local multiplayer games not rated M? Come on. Just get LBP, it's easily one of the greatest games ever made.

It's not that I don't want to get LBP, it looks awesome. But...eh, my bro won't play because he's got a 'I gotta be able to kick some a$$ or I won't play it' type attitude when it comes to gaming. And LBP offers nothing except slaps to your fellow gamer. I was rather disappointed you couldn't do ANYTHING violent. My parents would play with me, but...eh, let's face it. Old folks don't do well at playing games.

Oh you'd be surprised, at our last LAN party the guy who lent us the hall gave us quite a surprise when I let him have a go at Halo 3 on my Xbox
