Though, I always feel it's awesome to shine some sort of light whenever someone's firing a laser, a gun, plasma bolt, et cetera. It's perfect for adding realistic lighting effects.
Personally most of these things can be done in after effects, and sometimes it isn't necessary. Thats just in my opinion however.
Love the shot Boardron, looks like a frame from the golden age of brickfilming. Really anticipating the film too, really can't wait, considering your past animation and the frames you've posted.
