I need help with my Avant-Garde entry, and I need to get it fairly soon or I'm going to run out of time

I'm fairly bogged down with school work at the moment, and as the deadline comes closer, my workload is going to become heavier and heavier. I'll give you guys the basic idea in order for you to understand what I want to accomplish.

My film is gonna be a sort of role-playing type of thing, where you play as a new spaceman, and you have to help the other three spacemen get out of the mischief they find themselves in. As you go along the story you come into events which you can control the outcome through your actions - and they're pretty much going to be evil, neutral and good options.

My problem is that I have no experience what so ever with flash or anything like that. I want to be able to have the video play and when a situation in which you have to make a choice arises, the video will pause and give you the options. Once you've selected your choice, the video resumes until the next time you have to make a choice. I'm sure this is possible within flash, but I just don't know how to do it. And the youtube in-video linking thing isn't an option I want to take. I'd rather it looked a little more polished.

Any help is much appreciated.
