Topic: The "Which Software/Hardware" Thread.

The main purpose of this thread is collect all the "Which Software/Hardware is best?" questions in one place, so as to clean up this particular part of the forums a bit.
How it works:

  • First ask a question about which software/hardware you should purchase.

  • Then, wait for a member to respond. If you make your decision before a member responds, than simply delete your post.

  • To end a discussion, put [/discussion] at the end of your post, so a new discussion can begin.

I'll start it off. I'm trying to decide on whether I should get Adobe Premier Elements 8, if I should save up for Adobe Premier Pro w/ a student discount, or whether I should go for Sony Vegas.

*BUMP*

I can't go with one opinion. Which one should I get?

Re: The "Which Software/Hardware" Thread.

I don't know much about any of the programs, but I'd have to agree with CapedKid.

Re: The "Which Software/Hardware" Thread.

Vegas is awesome, but I have never used Adobe Premiere so I probably shouldn't be the deciding factor.

Re: The "Which Software/Hardware" Thread.

I have Vegas, Premier CS4 and After Effects. Premier is the most confusing. (I was like this when I saw it mini/eek ) Vegas isn't confusing, but it's not got as high capabilities as Premier or After Effects. After Effects, on balance, I'd say is the best. Plus if you get the CS4 Production Premium, you get After Effects, Photoshop and Premier, all of which could be very useful for brickfilming (NXTManiac95 has a tutorial on masking in Photoshop). Hope I helped.

It was the first time I saw it. Unless you'd had experience with that kind of thing (which at the time I hadn't) then most people would probably have looked like that.

Re: The "Which Software/Hardware" Thread.

Vegas is better then premier pro, its easier to use and if you really need help there are more tutorials on Youtube.

Re: The "Which Software/Hardware" Thread.

Wait. Adobe is much better. Vegas is for Beginners (No offense inteded.) And Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 Is for proffesionals. (Not inteding I am a Pro at editing mini/tongue )
