Topic: The Blender Basics

I finished building the LeoCAD version of Earth, and now I need to animate it in Blender. I already exported it as a .3ds, and have imported it into Blender. From there on I'm clueless.
What I need to know is how to add a background image, to get rid of the ugly standard blue render. Also, I'd like to know how to animate and render the animation. Just the basics, maybe some tips is all I need.
I remember glancing at a tutorial before, but I can't remember what it was. A Wiki-Book thing I think.
All help is appreciated!

Re: The Blender Basics

Yes, here is the tutorial. I literally just animated a basic walk cycle 3 minutes ago with it. mini/smile  I HIGHLY reccomend using the static gingerbread man thing.

Oh, and Leo told me how to get a background. Go into the shading panel, and click on textures, then load an image/video file, and then go into the world settings in the shading panel. Go to the Map To section and click Hori(horizon) and de-select Blend. Then you have your image!

Re: The Blender Basics

Well, I'm at the animation stage now. Of course, I may not actually animate for a couple of weeks, due to the fact that my 512MB RAM can't process a single left click.
