Why isn't there a black smiley? IT'S RACIST.
☻
☻ ? WHAT IS THIS?
Why isn't it the same size as the yellow smilies? Does that signify oppression? YOU RACIST, LEGOBRICKSTUD!
...
Just so everyone's clear on this, I am joking. I don't want people to think that post was serious and therefore think I'm a total poo poo head.
I don't think you're a racist, LBS.

I have one thing to say on all this: LOL
Wow. Three pages and no one has stated the incredibly obvious answer. Even if you don't know this answer, no one thought to, I don't know, Google it perhaps?
LEGO original themes use yellow minifigures, as is traditional.
Licensed themes use flesh-toned minfigures, which have come in White, Black and a Middle-Eastern tannish sort.
The one exception to this would be the black Lando in the old Cloud City diorama. This prompted the introduction of the flesh-toned minifigures, as the meld of yellow and black suggested that all of LEGO's minifigures to that point were Caucasian.

Now that Jargon has enlightened us all, I'm going to give this train a merciless kick.

Who else thinks that it's kinda racist how LEGO put the only black Lego minifigs in the basketball sets, it's like saying that this is all they are good at and don't belong in regular sets, I want to see more black minifigs
it would be okay if they had never made black ones and haveing the orriginal "yellow" guy but then they singled them out buy making a black minifig and ONLY putting it in the basketball sets, the only other time I've seen one is in one of the police sets.
theres one in a star wars set
