What is your all time favorite Brickfilm and why?

Mine would have to be Grace by Nosniborus, i think that the animation in it was fantastic and that the story behind it was great and to be honest i just liked it in general.

Whats your favorite?

The Magic Portal
This film is just so completely wonderful because it captures the magic of animation. A live action film couldn't do what that film does and the film doesn't try to do what other films can do it knows its an animation and it works wonders that no live action film could do. Not only is it my favourite brickfilm it's my favourite animation. A lot of brickfilms you see seem to try to be live action films you don't see many that embrace the fact it's animation and use the medium to it's fullest extent. The Magic Portal does this and it does it brilliantly.

I highly recommend you watch it if you haven't already.

EDIT: Just rewatched it. You have to cry at it's magnificence.

Re: What is your all time favorite Brickfilm and why?

The Magic Portal is a fantastic peice of filmmaking, and a great brickfilm that, as you said RP, knows it's a Lego animation and therefor stretches the borders of what you would normally see in a regular film.  It's this playful creativity that makes it such a joy to watch even though there are a few set bumps etc. (which is more forgivable, since the guy was working with film cameras)

As for my favorite brickfilm, it's hard to say, though the Magic Portal is definately on my top 5 list along with Out of Time by Buxton (Old Scratch) Worst Case Scenerio 2 (a series with really great, memorable characters by Bob Page) and The Han Solo Affair (Spite Your Face)

Blast from the Past? Or Beleaguered Mediocrity from the Past?

Yeah, The Magic Portal would be my pick as well.

Re: What is your all time favorite Brickfilm and why?

I have three:

The Magic Portal (See RP Hoogle and Yo-Blobs description - I cannot add anything to that)

Pirates
This is one of the most underrated Brickfilms ever. Visually, its obviously green-screen, there is nothing much here in the story department, and you can tell thats the computers refelction on any silver surface. But it has one thing that only the Magic Portal and this seems to have: Heart. They are both so lovingly made, and so loving to watch. You actually fall in love with it, no matter what. Both seem to touch my inner-child, and despite 'Pirates' being made in 2008, Nostalgic. It seems to go back to a classic style of animation, and is a nod towards the golden age of Brickfilms. Face it - you cant go wrong with a Pirate movie. Ever. Plus, the music is Joseph Franks finest.

Da Europeans - The Unfinished Project
Unfinished, underrated, and AWESOME! Its basically made by two guys who are like brothers - BertL and Rolz. And the fact that their playing themselves makes them seem like so likeable, and such awesome people.
Its also unique. The disturbingly dust sets and yellow walls creates a unique and interesting style, and so it makes this their own. Its entertaining, it takes a behind-the-scenes look, and its by Bertl and Rolz - two of the funniest Brickfilmers ever.

None of you have mentioned America: Outlawed. Shame on you.
Personally my favorite brickfilm is still Leftfield's Aladibadabad.

Anything by KG, including the Meat Sauce series.

Re: What is your all time favorite Brickfilm and why?

Lego Starwars: An Average DeathStar Day

It may be "Lego Starwars", It may not have very good quality, but it was the first brickfilm I watched and I love it because of that.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.
