Topic: Scripting

Hi, I am currently scripting for a brickfilm that is not a short, it is supposed to be long. But, I am having trouble cming up with ideas and writing(it isn't my best subject). Can you give me tips on how you guys script. I know it is hard and won't be done soon.

Re: Scripting

Well, first, keep a notepad near you at all times. Then, when you get an idea, right it down.

Also, to make scripting easy, I recommend downloading Celtx

Really, we cant help you on writing the script, or tips on how to write scripts, just, write it according to how you want the movie to feel mini/wink

Persist.

Re: Scripting

Yeah, I know you can't tell me what to write. I already do keep a notebook right by my desk. So, thanks. I'm installing Celtx right now.

Re: Scripting

Sometimes stuff just comes to you. Things come to me when I'm doing some sort of easy physical exercise, and I imprint that idea into my brain so I don't forget, then as soon as I can, I jot down the idea. Also I get ideas when I drink apple juice.

Re: Scripting

I actually get the best ideas when I am bored. It happens because I don't want to focus on what is going on and think of other things. I get alot of good ideas during school.

Re: Scripting

Yeah, I probably missed it because it was in the pre-production forum.

Re: Scripting

I recommend getting Cinergy Script Editor, its free and I did a vlog about it - Watch it here

Re: Scripting

I already watched that.

But, is there a difference between Cinergy and CeltX? I already have CeltX and am scripting on it now, but should I not use it anymore? Or should I keep it? I want to know which one is better

Re: Scripting

From what I can tell, they both contain about the same features. If you've already started on Celtx and are happy with it, there's no reason to switch unless you later find something about it you absolutely detest. Celtx is also considerably more popular, from what I understand.

Re: Scripting

Yeah, I don't have any problems with it.

Thanks
