New animation challenge: Motion Blur Without special effects
The deadline is Friday the 27th June (Two weeks from now).
So by "motion blur without VFX" I mean doing motion blur by actually moving the camera whilst the shot is being taken or moving the set or anything else whilst the shot is being taken. I often use this technique myself and I know of other animators who practise the same trick.
I would enter but having won the challenge before last, I'll let other people have a go.
This is a great challenge, though. I'm surprised nobody's thought of it before, since it's quite a useful technique to know. I think Brotherhood Workshop talks about doing some in-camera blur in one of his BTS videos (the early BTS about cave troll's birthday) if anyone wants some inspiration.
I'll try and join.
Interesting theme, it's been years since the last time I've made an entry. Maybe this is a new opportunity to come back.

I remember reading in a book by Aardman about how they did motion blur when shooting the train chase in The Wrong Trousers, so I may have a go if I have time. 
Animated a quick shot for this. I'll edit it together tomorrow.

Ok guys! My filming is complete. There was no post-processing in this video except for cropping and editing it all together.
Been working on my entry for about 2 days, editing now. (Editing being adding SFX and titles.)
Coolio. Tell me if anyone needs the deadline extended (though we've still got a few days) 
I'm not sure if I'll put something together quickly or not. I'll see how it goes, although I wasn't planning on releasing any new videos until July 1st.
I think I 'm not going to make my entry, I'm not prepared yet with my new DSLR to make a solid work. I have to admit that this challenge is more difficult than I thought. Maybe next time.

The motion blur was good in this entry but it was very hard to understand what was happening. Maybe it might have been better at a slower frame rate.

Again very good motion blur when the van passed by though why there were 20 seconds of credits after a 6 second animation beats me! The truth is out there about that I guess

I really liked this entry. I was very impressed with the motion blur and for me this was the stand out winner.
