Re: The Animation Challenge

Thanks ScreamingTantrum! I'm glad you liked it. The new challenge will be:

Quickbuild

DEADLINE: Next Thursday, March 7th. I will be judging on Friday, the 8th.

This will consist of a minifigure building a set or some sort of object. Similar to how your character builds objects in the Lego video games. I will be judging solely on the quality of the animation. Thanks to thedoorwaystudio for bringing up this idea that I think could create some very interesting results! If you have any questions or other suggestions please feel free to ask!

This is an interesting challenge! I hope to enter, and see some pretty neat entries!

Re: The Animation Challenge

I might make an entry for this one. I'm probably too lazy, though... Congrats for winning, BTW.

I need a new name! HELP

I'll enter this if I have the time. mini/smile

Oh, man, I really wish I could join this one!!! But my computer's broke and I need to do school.

Re: The Animation Challenge

mini/smile Cool. I'll see if I can think of something small but simple.

Here's a quick one I did: has no editing or anything. I just did it on my iPod touch. http://youtu.be/okAisZ2gMQ0

Re: The Animation Challenge

Would there be a possibility of an extension?  I have had a lot of homework this week and haven't been able to animate, I have my set and all.  I don't have school Friday so I would be able to do it tomorrow.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I was actually thinking the same thing. So I'll extend the deadline through the weekend.

NEW DEADLINE: Monday, the 11th. Judging will be on Tuesday, the 12th.

Be sure to have your entries in before Monday. The results will be on Tuesday.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Thanks, I'll be able to make one now.

Re: The Animation Challenge

I cooked this up in around 1 to 2 hours just because this would be cool to try:

Wasn't particuarly happy with overall animation but I thought the quickbuild was okay, meh.

Re: The Animation Challenge

This looks like a cool challenge... I'll see if I can whip something together. mini/cat

Re: The Animation Challenge

Alright, times up. First and foremost I'd just like to give a thank you to all who entered. Overall, they were all great. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner. I'm not going to give out 2nd, and 3rd place winners, but instead just give out the main winner, and give my thoughts on all the others.

All that being said, the winner of this challenge goes to MrMingleProductions.
MrMingle, I really liked the overall look of the build itself, and how it really was a "quickbuild." Everything in it matched up nicely. Great job!

In the order of when entries were submitted:

tenny1028: This one was pretty good. The fact that you did it with no editing, and on an iPod touch, was a challenge within itself. So well done on that.

osomstudios: I liked this one. But the main thing that sold it for me, is probably something that not too many people noticed. It was the figures arm movements that went along with the building. It corresponded nicely with the pieces as they went together.

ParadiseBricks: Another great entry. This one was by far the quickest, but even with that fast of an animation, I was still able to see the individual bricks build something. So good job on that.

Again, I'd like to thank everyone for entering, and taking part in this little contest. MrMingle, the floor is yours.
