Re: Blender 3D Minifigure - Work in Progress
Wow, great job there. I'm excited to see how it'll turn out.

I come back to you now, at the turn of the tide... with an update.
As you can see, the arms have been added, and all I have left to do now are the hands. Now, these arms actually deviate more from the original LDraw pieces than the rest, so there's probably some inaccuracies; I don't care much about those, but my OCD does. If the inaccuracy is so glaringly obvious and you just can't look at the thing without it being fixed, feel free to point it out to me, but if not, please don't.
Oooooooooo! Me like. btw nice avatar
I love the feeling of knowing that I've accomplished something. It feels great.
Click on the picture to view it in full-sized glory. There are still a couple things I need to tweak, like the stems on the hands, which I actually haven't touched at all, and if enough people notice the one thing I'm worried about, I guess I'll fix that too. After that, it's onto rigging.
EDIT: The wrists are now complete, and I have switched out the old render with a new one that includes the changes.

Three cheers for Littlebrick! HIP HIP HUZZAH!
The only thing I think isn't perfect is the top of the wrist. It just seems a bit weirdly shaded.
Yeah, I'm going to fix that later today or tomorrow.
Looks great, but is it rigable?
The original plan was to rig this thing, and I still plan on doing that. However, I have no previous rigging experience, so that step is going to take a while to do.
I guess I should also mention that while this thing is pretty much done, I deleted some things that would get in the way for animation, in particular the holes on the legs; not only were they a pain to animate, but it sounds like they'd mess up the whole thing while animating, so I just got rid of them.
DUBBLE POST: Due to some arms that don't want to rig properly, I've made some non-bended arms. Hopefully these will work better. Anyway, I decided to have some fun with these, so here you go.

GIMME A HUG!
It's not 100% perfect, but I think I'll leave it just the way it is... except for the fingers, which I'll get to eventually, and the face, which I'm not sure how to do yet.
That's awesome. Are you going to make a short film with him?
-JK
Maybe. I'll definitely animate him, but a full short film is questionable. It all depends on how much time I can dedicate to it.
Please notify me when you post your CGI minifig movie!
I cant wait to see it!
Awesome work!
I gotta get me some of those hugs!
Littlebrick, may I use the hugs figure in a sig? I'll give you credit!
That's awsome, Littlebrick! It's a better render than what Lego Universe looks like. Can't wait to see some animations with it!!
