What war? I know that Kinzcove has a lot of revolutionary war stuff
As for MODERN Warfare (Hmm, now I want to play CoD ), You're best bet would be to scour eBay to find troop packs from the Indiana Jones line, Nazi or Russian troops. Also, try BrickForge. Thats where I got the custom Army Helmet in this picture. Thats also where I got my custom SPARTAN Armor.
Try checking out the indiana jones sets, they are based in WW2 (If thats what you want) Like this one: (7622, Race for the Stolen Treasure)

Woops, what I was meant to say was around that sort of time, like 20th century sort of time
Well, they technically are. That specific set is based on a scene from Raiders, which was set in 1936. WWII is officially stated to have 'started' in 1939 with the invasion of Poland.
However, the IMAGE of a soldier from WWII is represented by these minifigs
Anyway, what type of war are you thinking of?
Mostly WWII, but modern warfare would work too.
I just made A German soldier Decal. Check in the decal section of "bricks" for it.
Here is a test I made with it:
The helmet is simply a lego hat I...."modified"
Brickarms.com has lots of weapons specially made to fit with lego figures and they have lots of detail.brickarms also has some custom minifigures that have uinforms and stuff
Ahum, this thread was from october, and the stuff you said, was already been told
Well, stripes did not reply, so none of us know if he still needs help.
I'm going to agree with T.G-Tom on this one. Bumping is not a problem if you have something meaningful to contribute to the discussion (and is preferable to creating a new thread), but if you're just going to repeat something that's already been said, please don't do it.
