Topic: Mixing Animation?

Hey there everyone! I've learned the basics of CGI, but I can't figure out how to mix my CGI and animation images, and yes, I have tried google. How do all of you people who have done it before do it? I use Blender, but the concept should be relatively the same. I know you use a background image or something like that, but I have no idea how to actually do all of that stuff. And how do you mix two animation tracks, like what smeagol did (*wince* I hate saying that, but there's no other way to explain it.) in Bane of the Sith. Thanks,

Well what you'd want to do is film your scene in front of greenscreen or whatever, then key that out and replace it with the CG background, in most cases anyway.  It really depends what specifically you're trying to do, I suppose.  Either way I don't really recommend trying anything too complicated with CG/stop motion integration until you've done a fair amount of work in both areas.

Yeah, but what if you want to overlap the CGI image with the footage that wasn't greenscreened? And I have done a lot of work (all summer) constantly experimenting with CGI.
