Topic: Trailer: 1984

Hey fellow brickfilmers,

I'm definitely an animation sort of guy, but I just got a literature project for school in which I had to make a trailer for George Orwell's 1984. I didn't want to do it in LEGO, so I decided to try some live-action. It's pretty much the first live-action stuff I've ever shot, and on a not-so-high-quality camera. I whipped the whole thing together in about two weeks with the help of some stock footage (Detonationfilms ftw) and too much CGI.

Anyway, let me know what you think!

Re: Trailer: 1984

The CGI was a bit overwhelming
I liked the music and effects though
Is that you acting?

Re: Trailer: 1984

Re: Trailer: 1984

That was amazing.

And I didn't think the CGI was overwhelming at all... maybe that's just me.

Re: Trailer: 1984

Well, that certainly wasn't how I pictured Oceania, but it makes sense now.

I was looking throughout for a reference of 2+2=5, which I did not spot...

If you can call that acting, then yes.

Yes, although I actually use Blender for a lot of stuff.

Re: Trailer: 1984

Wow, that was great!

You can do anything, just have fun while doing it.

Re: Trailer: 1984

quite liked this especially the "approved for oceania", although it looked like it just captured the feeling of 1984 and none of the story, there was no hint of obrian or julia? (cant remember her name)

but well played, i wish i could master blender aswell as you have

Re: Trailer: 1984

Very nicely done, the CGI didn't seem overwhelming at all, since it was done so well.
The eeriness was great and yeah, it was awesome.

Re: Trailer: 1984

Amazing job with the trailer. It gave it a really spooky, eerie feeling, not to mention slightly depressing, and I am guessing that's what you were aiming for.
