Re: Photography

@Cloniac, I like that flower shot. It has a kind of motion blur feel to it, not just bokeh for the sake of it.

I've recently been using Flickr more this year, and I've tried mixing up my shots from just the standard flower macro that I've been so good at that it was becoming kind of boring. Below is some of my favourites from this year, and here's my album for the year that I'm trying to add a photo to once or twice a week.

So some of them are still using my go to macro skills I've picked up over the years, but I think I am trying to step out of my comfort zone somewhat. I'm hoping to get some more LEGO photos running during the uni holidays in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Photography

That first image, with the pipe, is extremely insteresting... even thought-provoking!  How the plumbing looks like an iconic image of a mammal in its habitat... is it a statement about mankind's progress replacing nature?  Or is it just a really amusing, interesting image with no social context?  Thought-provoking.

Re: Photography

I am yet to work out the context of why the pipe was where it was. It was at a public garden, so I assume it was something to do with the watering system, but it was very unusual, almost like a man-made animal in a garden.

Re: Photography

The colour balance on your camera looks to be a lot blue. Not sure if your camera can change the white balance, but if it can, it could do a bit more warmer.

I've been editing some more of my photos, and I found this nifty colour editing tool in Adobe Lightroom that I will probably be using a lot more. I'm thinking I'll develop my style around this tool.

Re: Photography

I went to the parkland between my home and work the other day. I've noticed it a lot recently coming home from work, and it gets really nice lighting from the afternoon sun.

I also have some new LEGO photos that I've got ready to go. Nothing too special in terms of composition, I was just wanting to get some photos of LEGO.

Re: Photography

Thanks, I do enjoy nature, and I think there can be a lot to see given the time.

Just a quick update also, Golden Glow in the Paddock made it into Explore, which I'm super excited about, because it is essentialy my first photo to go viral on Flickr. It managed over 2000 5000 views and over 70 100 favourites, which is huge for my photos. I guess I am moving on up in the world of photography mini/bigsmile

I took a photo of an A&W Root Beer can in front of my old elementary school (which is now under construction).

And then I did some editing.
