I finished scripting. Blarg. It's not that long but I will be victorious! (Probably not)XD
I wonder if i still have time to enter its still around 7 months away... I REALLY want that dragon stuff and the mic its just so fancy looking
.. I may enter
I'm (finally) making some progress in Truth and it's becoming awesome. I think I'm extending part one a bit so VOICE ACTORS WATCH YOUR MAIL (especially Just_a_Minifig, since he was dissapointed that he didn't have a line
).
I also gonna do a new casting call for the head role. My voice is way too young and I want a better actor for this.
I finally got my idea!
I asked 5 people what they thought of my idea/script. They all really liked it.
So this project is a GO! Still scripting.

Dang, I'm stuck getting ideas. My old one won't work any more. ![]()
I got my idea.
Need help getting an idea? Just do what I did, go outside, and observe EVERYTHING. Anything, from a clock to a dog, can give you a winning idea. ![]()
Well, I'm screwed. Good luck to all of you! ![]()
I am looking for a bit of clarification on what is and is not allowed in terms of drug use in our movies for the 2010 Avant-Garde contest. Let’s say that in a particular scene one wants to casually infer that certain characters are ingesting drugs and then goes into a really tripped out, well trip. Is it ok to quickly show a shot of a Lego guy sticking a little Lego screwdriver into a clear flat 1x1 tile and then puts said screwdriver to mouth to smoke. Is it ok to have sound effects of illegal (in some countries) action going on off camera, say a water pipe gurgle and coughing? Is drinking alcohol allowed or even showing someone inebriated? If it makes any difference there are real and serious consequences for the group taking drugs. Yes I am aware that the subject matter is a bit cliché. It is not the crutch of my movie, just a fun little bit of it that I want to include. I more than understand if it is not acceptable. I am NOT condoning the use of drugs because they are obviously a dangerous do at your own risk thing but the affects some of them have on the brain in terms of time distortion and heightened senses of reality is, though dangerous, quite beautiful from an artistic stand point; though that plot line is as hackneyed as stale bong water. It would be really easy to just have some drugged up individual stumbling around while all sorts of craziness and out their stuff goes on in the background. No, I have put a lot of thought into my script and I would like to add a small amount of drug humor but I want to keep it within the boundaries of the rules so as to not be disqualified from the amazing prizes if fate should find me (Don't think not positive, eh!!). Also, I assume profanity is prohibited, which would be a shame, but would it be OK to beep out a bad word. I am not attempting to make an entire movie of beeped out words, although that might be a good idea for my fourth entry, just an F-bomb dropped casually. I am getting very excited about this contest and appreciate the effort that went into it to push the horizon of creativity in all of us. Truthfully, when I first saw the contest I did lean towards "Oh I am working on such and such project now but I can just change this or that and it will be perfect for this contest." My pathetic reasoning was since I am currently working on my first Lego short in about 5 years it can be considered advante guarde (yeah, that’s’ how I spell it) because it is the first time I have done something like this. Fortunately I came to my sense and I have put together a script from scratch that pushes out into new areas of expression. I am eagerly waiting to see everyone’s entry and how they interpret avant-garde.
