Topic: QuickCam 9000 Picture Quality Question

Hi,
I just got the Logitech Quickcam 9000 for my birthday and the picture quality looks great until it's saved as a clip.

I use MonkeyJam to film my clips and when I save them, they look almost most as bad as the ones film with my 9 year old lego cam.
I tried saving it in different file types and tried saving it in Windows Movie Maker but the it still looks grainy and pixilated.

Please Help.

Thanks.:)

Re: QuickCam 9000 Picture Quality Question

Hmm, well, first of when you are saving the clip is it compressed? If so maybe try saving it without any compression just to see if it makes a difference, I suggest just saving it as an .avi instead of playing with all the other file types, it works best with most software out there. Also, try changing the resolution, I believe it is in on of the tabs at the top (sorry I don't have monkey jam with me). Try out rsteenoven's tutorial it is quite good

Besides that I can't really think of anything,

Hope this helped.

Re: QuickCam 9000 Picture Quality Question

yes, as BozoMuffin has said, compression most of the time makes the video lose quality. Save it as an uncompressed avi file. Also, what resolution are you using? And monkeyjam isn't that good. There are other good free ones:

there are some more, but those are just a few.

P.S. I have that same camera! Here is the link to a test I filmed with it:
