This month (July), you can get a free Golden Minifigure keychain with orders $75 or more, from S@H.
$75‽ Seems a bit of a waste if you can't do anything useful with said keychain.

Well, what kind of idiot spends $75 to get a free keychain? I was buying about $100 of LEGO anyway, might aswell take it.
My review:
Review: The Golden Minifigure Keychain is a cute novelty to have. It has a traditional keyring for well...putting your keys on. They keyring seems like it was designed to be permanent, but there are methods of removing it. The head, legs and torso are inseparable, although you can remove the arms, and hands. The hands are in fact fleshie, or a shade of it. Some of the body parts that can normally move and rotate (Arms, Legs, Head) seem to be a bit looser than that of a normal figure, as they are permanently attached AFAIK. The hands are attached through a normal method. On each side of the torso, directly behind the arms, there is a tan spot where the gold paint did not cover. It appears that the entire figure was fleshie until painted, and that the hands were added last.

Brickfilming 2/5Verdict: This keychain is a nice novelty to have if you're spending $75 or more from LEGOShop.com, but I wouldn't spend $5 to purchase it, or get that last item to make my order $75.

If you have to spend $75 bucks to get it it's not free. Free is getting something without paying at all in my book.
But, you are paying for the other items + Getting taht.
It would be worth it if it was solid gold.
