Short and sweet. Your execution is as good as ever. I think you fell a bit into the same trap as Break in taking the theme too literally. The judges were hoping to see a bit more in the way of novel technical aspects, and that coupled with the minimal nature of the film led to its placement. Not a bad short by any means, just not what we were looking for in this contest.
