I like the comic-type speech bubble! 
That'd be a good workround for filmmakers who either can't get voice actors or want more international appeal by having "dialogue" in a universal language.
Would make for some challenging script writing to convey complex ideas in simple pictograms. Could be a good idea for a future contest - make a film with international appeal by not using a specific language for the dialogue.
