Topic: Best sticky tac?

I found out a few months ago that sticky tac is SO much better than clay for brickfilming, so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on a particular type to get. I don't want to end up buying something that's going to smear or melt on my set, so I figured those of you who use it could help me avoid that. mini/tongue

I use really cheap Blu Tac and it's perfect. You don't have to buy anything expensive. http://m.ebay.com/itm/BOSTIK-BLU-TACK-B … nav=SEARCH

A kneaded eraser works surprisingly well. It won't smear or anything.

Re: Best sticky tac?

From my experience with stick tac brands, most any sticky tacs are the same. Some prefer the name brand Blu-Tac, which I've never tried. I have tried UHU tac (which is great and goes a long way and is quite sticky all the time) and some off-brand blue colored tac, which works well, but isn't quite as sticky unless you knead it before each use.
Of course, all tacs will need lots of kneading for them to work, but from my experience, UHU stays sticky after kneading it a few times (I used to knead my sticky tac a lot, and now, it's just a glob of tac on my desk that doesn't really need to be kneaded).

I agree, I use the $2 blue tacky stuff, or the white counterpart.  I haven't done a consumer reports test on the types myself.  I do, however, love the quality of 3M products.  If I see theirs in an assortment I'd choose them.
