"You're too busy rolling through life like the worthless watermelon of a person that you are" is my new favourite expression.
There's some great stuff here. The use of split-screen and overlapping voices in the beginning was amazing. I really liked the monotonous voice of the cashier, and the "critics" discussing the Valentine's cards and the "ape" was were hilarious too.
There are a few minor flaws--for example, the lighting in the beginning is a lot dimmer compared to the light at the end part. While ther was some great cinematography in the beginning, it kind of fell apart towards the end. We see the different people discussing the relative merits of different cards, but the shots never show how they stand in relation to each other, which makes the cinematography and editing feel kind of odd and stilted. So it feels like there are a bunch of shots just lumped together, rather than a dynamic scene. It's kind of hard to explain, so I hope it makes sense.
Aside from that, though, I really enjoyed this! Great job!
