Topic: Toy Story, Cars, Prince of Persia LEGO?!
Ummm... what?! Apparently Disney and LEGO are foming a "strategic partnership" that will span "Disney's vast portfolio."
I'm kinda mixed about this.... why make Toy Story LEGO? That's a little weird, if you ask me. They're turning things based off of specific toys into different toys that will inevitably lack any resemblance to their original forms. I'm a little conflicted with that idea, frankly. I mean, how are they going to pull off Hamm? Mr Potato Head? Slinky Dog?! I dunno....
Prince of Persia, however... yeah. I could get behind that.
Cars seems to be a DUPLO line. I guess I'll have to see it before I make any sort of judgment. I think that if pulled off right, this could be one of Lego (and Pixar's) biggest cash cows. Cars, albeit Pixar's worst film, is still one of Disney's biggest merchandising opportunities.
What good news could come from this? Well I, for one, could really go for some Incredibles LEGO. Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame also have some tremendous potential for some outstanding LEGO sets, in my opinion.
