Most definitely! I was clicking the shutter button on the actual camera and that was making it shake too much. I now have EOS Utility and can use my laptop to take the images, so in the future there should be no camera shake! Thank you so much for the kind words though. 
That's exactly how I started off, before getting a webcam I know that it's impossible to keep the camera still when you press the shutter.
