Topic: Advice on telling a joke in the narrative?

Could somebody please review a small section of my script? I need to know how the joke at the end works best. There's two different approaches, I'm not sure which one I like. I'll PM you the script selection.

Due to the vagueness of the topic post, I don't know if I'll be any use with your style of humor, but if you'd like, I can take a look at it. I've written a lot of things in the past, of lots of different genres.
