Topic: FrameByFrame Help

Hey everyone,
Today I began doing some test footage for my Darkness and Light Contest entry. I took the stills with my DSLR, and then loaded them into FrameByFrame, the free stop motion software I have. I exported the compiled clip as an MP4, but neither QuickTime nor iMovie will play the file. Does anyone know what's going on? mini/dizzy

Thanks

Re: FrameByFrame Help

Hi. I suggest you use an alternative program. Zeitraffer is an excellent program, and it's free. It's not a frame capture program, but it suits your needs because all it does is take your frames and renders them to a movie at a high frame rate. Here's the link:

Re: FrameByFrame Help

I use FrameByFrame, and overall I think it's decent for a free program. I wouldn't necessarily suggest switching.

After an update a year or two ago, Quicktime now no longer loads certain types of .mov or .mp4, which is odd. I have literally no idea why. It's normally fine for me, as Quicktime automatically tries to convert it into a file it can read (though this does compress it somewhat). That said, I just checked and it doesn't open in my iMovie either (but that hasn't been a problem for me, since I don't use iMovie, and would honestly suggest that you find a better piece of editing software since iMovie is pretty limited).

I'll have a think and a look around and let you know if I come up with anything.

Re: FrameByFrame Help

Thanks for the suggestions. Any recommendations for cheap iMovie substitutes? Adobe Premiere would be AMAZING, but I lack the funds to support it.
