Topic: Space Police III animation on Lego.com
This is pretty neat, and a first time, I think. They animated the minifigures and such from the new Space Police III line:

Maybe it's Sprite Your Face,
That was cool, I liked it when the guy hit the camera.
Wow. That's awesome.
But when the guys running, it looks so... So... Just LEGO-ish...
Cool, if i would of bothered playing. JustKidden, maybe because it is LEGO?
I mean non-realistic.
Have you looked at your own animation Just Kidden? It's really difficult to make it really realistic. Just a few can do that.
Why do you people want realistic animation?! Is Loony Toons realistic? NO! Is it good animation? YES!
[/pet peeve]
For goodness sakes, guys. The things don't even have knees. What kind of knee-less realistic animation have you seen lately?

What I'm trying to say is that it looked like... Um...
I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT!!!
EDIT: Oh gosh, I sound like livinglego...

Actually, the guy punching the camera did look out of place...
I think I understand what JK is trying to convey, and also feel similarly. In the running shot, the angle and the lighting make the shot feel cheap, and it breaks up the flow of quality in an irritating way. It's not necessarily the animation that makes it feel like a leGomuvEy, but more the cinematography on a whole.
The fact that the shot is only 2 seconds long doesn't help matters, even if it was quality, the small quantity made it very difficult to appreciate I may have gotten a different feel from the shot were it not flashing into and out of sight so quickly.

Lego lends itself to a cartoon style of animation perfectly.
I'm not contesting that it doesn't; as I said, I have no qualms with the animation itself, it's the shot set up that bugs me.
Uhm...thanks for the discussion guys?
Ah, well. It wouldn't get much discussion without what's been going on now
I thought LEGO weren't going to be releasing any space lines until star wars had finished?
Then what about Mars Mission, etc.?
Anyway I didn't really think the whole thing was that pro... I think some of us could have done an equally good job.
