Re: BiM Summer Contest: Darkness & Light Production Topic
I decided my script was to deep to communicate the way I wanted too, so I am writing another script. The first one was still really great though.

Have a primary set ready, however my lights are playing up rn
Just for people who would need an original soundtrack for their D&L contest entey, I am now available to compose music for any animators entry. PM me if you would like to organise a composition and a time it's needed for. If you contact me and I've already received many other proposals, I will have to selectively choose which films I'd compose for. This will depend on the quality of the film and the time it will be ready for me to score to.
Good Luck again!

I've decided to not enter because Our new computer is not set up and I'm in the middle of filming a live-action movie.
Hmmm, two down already.
I know this requires a large investment of time and effort, (and money, in most cases) but there's a lot to be gained from entering one of these bigger summer contests. If you really can't, that's fine. But I highly encourage anybody that can, to just do it.
New Lifelite stuff will be in tomorrow, can't wait to get my hands on that package. Really need them for my next set.
Oh, and a frame. Enjoy.
Sometimes it's not about what you show, but what you don't show.

That is a key element in part of my film as well...
Here is some motivation for those of you who are feeling discouraged: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuHfVn_cfHU
JUST DO IT!!!
Animation officially started yesterday, although I did animate a test shot on Monday which I didn't think I'd use, but I like it so I'm using it. I'm really loving the extension tube I bought a few weeks back. It's making me see so much detail on the minifigure's face that I never saw before.
Ordered about $20 of parts from Bricklink on Monday also. They should be in sometime within two weeks.
Well, I gave it my all guys but was not able to what I wanted at all on here and am not going to participate in this, good luck to everyone who is entering.
Everyone saying that they are animating is making me feel like I'm behind!
In my case I'm working vigorously on my script. I'm about halfway through my outline and the script is 14 pages long. It's lots of dialogue which should mean not very difficult animating I hope. If I don't finish it before the deadline I will still try to finish it. Being away from home for so long will disrupt the progress. I'm thinking that if I do preproduction throughly (the stuff I can do away from home) that I'll be able to make production and post production very smooth.
At first I thought you must be nuts if you were going to try to film something with a 14-page script in one summer, but then I read the part about lots of dialogue.
That makes it the opposite of mine, which has no dialogue whatsoever.
I made a numbered shot list before shooting, so that I can shoot the clips not in chronological order, but in the order of convenience. It's already saving me a lot of time.
That's what I did for this brickfilm too! Since I ordered some parts from Bricklink, I have to wait before I animate on the sets that require the parts. But I can animate other shots not on the set while I'm waiting. A lot of those shots take place before and in between and after the other shots.

After multiple failed ideas, I finally got one that I'm quite proud of and I'm writing the first draft now.
Got the opening 1:30 filmed and put into place. Only need to add a few more sounds and that's done.
I've got about half of the smaller movement-based scenes done, but haven't started on the major dialog stuff yet.
Finally got all the roles cast, and will hopefully have all of the actor's lines in by the end of this week or shortly thereafter.
Things are moving along very nicely.
Now to return to filming...
