A glowing box get delivered to the man's front door... I'm not going buy the game, just gonna wait.
Is this playable with any minifigure? Like if I dug out my LEGO Buzz Lightyear minifig, with all the pieces, I would be able to play the game with it?
You know, that is if I had a Wii U, and if I bothered to get up off my lazy butt and go out to buy video games as a whole, and if these portals and all the collectibles weren't so pricey.
You cannot use your normal LEGO minifigures with this. The way you get minifigures to put in the game is buying expansion packs. The packs are not just minifigures, they come with little bases, which I assume have electronics in them that tells the game what minifigure you have. Basically, the minifigs aren't the expansion packs, the bases are. The minifigs are jut there for you to play with.
It looks interesting. I'm not sure if I'll get into this but if the minfigures are removable from their stands and if they have any that I might want to get, I might buy some of them before I get the game.
That portal looks cool, reminds me of Stargate. xD
Hopefully these won't be as hard to find like the Amiibos. That !@#$ is ridiculous.
Also hoping they add more themes to this game as well.
When I first saw the announcement I got excited, but then the excitement was immediately destroyed when I realized it's basically Disney Infinity. The cost to value ratio with Disney Infinity was borderline offensive to consumers, and I have a feeling this will be the same thing.
I think I just figured out that this is for the XBOX 360, which I actually do have. Hmm. Maybe for Christmas...
Even so, LEGO games just aren't what they used to be. I was real excited about The LEGO Movie's videogame, because the movie includes a bunch of amazing-looking worlds, that would be awesome when incorporated into the game. But, the gameplay is lame, and the free realm is disappointing. Bricksburg is just two dead-end streets, and a tricky space where you get stuck if you play as Lord Business. The LEGO Hobbit videogame was boring, and even though the free realm on the LEGO Lord of the Rings videogame is slightly fun, having the audio straight from the movies was just weird.
Probably the best LEGO videogame of recent memory is LEGO Marvel Superheroes, because the gameplay is fast-paced, the character roster is excellent, and the free realm is fantastic. Not only is it one of the best LEGO games, but it's also one of the best Marvel games, IMO.

If you had played LEGO City Undercover on the WiiU, I think you'd like it. Dimensions seems to be more like that then the standard Tt LEGO games.
Undercover looks like nothing but pure fun. Sadly, I don't have a Wii U.
