Re: He Has Risen (EASTER 2015)

Nice little film, bataton! I like how it was short and sweet, and how it told the story of the Resurrection without requiring too much time.

Your animation is nice, you should probably practice your easing a bit, but it wasn't bad. There were also many camera bumps, so you might want to secure your camera a bit more. But overall, I enjoyed it. mini/smile

Re: He Has Risen (EASTER 2015)

Great work, bataton!

The music provides a wonderful atmosphere for the film and the absence of dialogue definitely works in favor of the story. The opening scene, with the fade effect was executed very well; a good way, indeed, to start the film. The animation is lively and has great character to it.

One thing, in particular, about the film is that the ending felt a bit abrupt. Perhaps you could have extended the last scene a few seconds longer with a fade effect reminiscent of the beginning of the film. This is just a small suggestion, however, and is definitely excusable due to the time limit of the contest.

Conclusively, this is a super little short film and I very much enjoyed it.

It was a nice short film Bataton, while it did feel a little fast paced for me, I was still able to understand most of the scenes with your well made sets. I especially liked the Tomb.

As Rioforce said, is just practice your easing! Otherwise good job! mini/smile

Divine.

Thanks!
I am using a broken tri-pod so it's pretty hard to keep the camera secure, I have found out though, that in some scenes I can move the camera in post-production so that you can't really notice the bumps.

Re: He Has Risen (EASTER 2015)

One of the few to forego bunnies and candy in favor of the real reason for Easter, this one takes a longer look at Jesus post-resurrection appearances on earth, but sadly the lower production values and certain shot choices bring down the overall quality.

I like that it explores more after the Resurrection, most just look at that and forget all that came after. The only problem is that it tries to tell too much, and thus it looses some clarity and detail. But the main flaws with it don't lie with the story, but with the production. The camera shakes consistently, the animation is choppy, and the lighting appears flat and unappealing. The tomb set is effective, but simple, and leaves a lot of space for the blue paper to fill.

Some polishing of the animation, a new tri-pod, and brighter, more dynamic lighting will all go a long way in helping you grow and improve as an animator. Thanks for entering EASTER, and for not forgetting the true story behind everything that happens this time of year.

Blue paper would have been great, all I use is a blue wall. I did think of adding a background using blue-screen, but I didn't do it because the wall's colour wasn't consistent enough.
