Topic: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

I was sending my audition to Jampot, when I played back the file it had this very weird noise.

Now heres the main problem my speakers until now were fine (on my laptop) now the right side of the speaker (if the laptop is facing infront of you) it seems to make a very cranky sound like the left side sounds fine but as you play a film or song it just makes static noise and I realize it just comes from the right speaker the left one is fine. (The sound is like when you put something really loud it begins to lose the quality).

Can anyone tell me whats the best way to fix this, and what it could be? The other day it was honestly fine. I put my computer to sleep after I finish working, and playing files sounded fine before I realize now it wasn't my microphone but the speakers themselves.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

Sincerely,
Divine.

Plug in some earphones or headphones and see if you still get the problem with those. If so, it's probably a sound card problem, if not, the speakers in your laptop are going out and they might need to be replaced.

Hi Tenny, thanks for your response I've just checked with head phones and its fine.

Re: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

Yeah, the speakers are probably going out. You'll have to replace them, but if you don't want to, just use headphones. I have a set of earphones I use with my phone, but when I want to watch a youtube video or if I need to mix some audio, I'll use earphones. It keeps what I'm listening to private and doesn't disturb the people around me.

Re: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

Ohh I just read, they might be going out mini/sad I wasn't aware speakers go out? oh man.

Thanks for your advice Tenny, but you believe that may be the issue? Is there anything else that may be tried? As said its just the right speaker, the left is fine. Yeah I guess I'll make use of the head phones, for now.

Thanks man.

Sincerely,
Divine.

Re: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

It may be that the right speaker has a poor connection, so you probably have to sodder the connections again or make sure the speakers are firmly plugged in. However, because they are built-in speakers and unless the computer was cheaply made, I doubt that is the problem.

Re: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

I think I'll just have to take it to a technician to have it checked out. I am using an alienware laptop and have had it just over a year, it hasn't ever moved if thats what may have the poor connection so it may be as you said worn out.

This infact just occured two days ago. mini/sad

Re: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

Yeah if you haven't moved it at all since you first got it, I would not say that it's because of a poor connection. And if you do not plan on moving it at all in the future, I would consider getting some external speakers if you want speakers instead of headphones. That is, if you don't want to replace the speakers.

Re: Sound issue with my computer, Please help!

Yeah honestly, I was thinking about external speakers myself, thanks a lot for your help man. Its good to know what is most likely the cause of the issue than not knowing at all.

Sincerely,
Divine.
