What if someone wanted to post a film in the forum without submitting to the directory?
We don't have anything like that set up yet. We initially planned it but could only get it to the point of a short paragraph since there aren't many guidelines.
Perhaps we'll add something when we restructure that page a bit to accommodate more search options.
No problem. I did find out you guys don't allow stikfas animations. Didn't know that before.
I did ask about the Stickfas when the directory went online, but apparently I was the only staff member who thought it would be OK to have Stickfas in the directory, maybe it's because I'm the only one with a Stickfa animation.
No worries, I just didn't see that written anywhere.
The original site was 'any' plastic toy so I just assumed likewise. Not that this is a big deal. I don't think anyone other than me is uploading other toy animations... except for that one guy that was doing playmobil stuff. I forget who that was.
Smeagol -- someone would post to the forum if it's their first film that might be a very low standard. Like, WMM .5 FPS Star Wars stormtrooper comedy leggo muvvey olol
Yeah, that just seems like such a rare circumstance, and it doesn't hurt anything to have it in the directory as far as I can tell. Honestly, low quality movies don't take long to process, since we rarely write review for them.
Regarding stikfas, the concern was that they're not really building toys (more like action figures than LEGO) and they have a greater range of movement - meaning that they would have a huge advantage in the animation category. If you made a movie using a combination of LEGO and stikfas (more than just a base plate ) then it'd be considered. Since we have an "Other Films" forum, there's now a better venue for sharing non-brickfilms here than in the past.
The film submission works a treat but I did find that submitting a forum link only works in FireFox and not IE.
Keep up the good work people.
Upload it to somewhere like mediafire, then put the download link in the links when submitting.
When i submit a film, it doesn't get to the directory, yet i don't get a rejection email.
Maybe it hasnt been reviewed yet?
No, cos i got a rejection email when i submitted my test film by mistake.
