Re: The BiM Film Directory is now open!
I'm not mad. Its not my site. I would be mad if smeagol hacked my site and ran it like this though.
We are a friendly filmmaking community devoted to the art of stop-motion animation using LEGO® and similar construction toys. Here, you can share your work, join our community of other brickfilmers, and participate in periodic animation contests!

But you're mad though that it's run this way though.
Everyone, I'm only charging $10 for immediate changes, to keep up with the competition. Send the money to [email protected] I'll get on those changes right away
I think instituting a form for informing a user of the non admittance of their film would be a useful change, especially for new members (assuming it has tips on improving like the old brickfilms reply did).

Sadly the competition does not have FTP or database access that's why I cost extra
Yes, some kind of notification for film processing would be good to have, it is on the to-do list.
To clarify, I've done very little of the programming. But we are aware of compatibility issues on the site. Slothpaladin and myself would not knowingly release a site that had major compatibility issues for traditional web browsers, but we're working with what we were given in the first place - in all honesty, Schlaeps released the site in December in an incomplete state that was filled with compatibility issues, (after making a public poll in which he actually decided to deliberately ignore some of these problems) so there is something of a mess to clean up. Sloth has, in his free time, has already fixed many of the major problems that typical users are seeing, but we weren't going to shut down the site after it'd been open for months just so we could make it perform better for a small minority of users. BiM is fully compatible with the browsers that most of the users on this site are using, it's not 100% yet for IE and some rendering engines. We've been getting more praise than criticism for the new directory. Your opinion alone isn't enough to justify redesigning the review system.
Yeah you also rejected Robot Invasion which owned peoples brains, but then accepted Elevator which is not even close to being as good.
-Jimmybob
@Jimmybob, Robot Invasion was not rejected, it was just not recommended. If someone searches for robot movies they will find it
and even though films that are not recommended aren't shown by default does not mean they are not being crawled by search engines, we have a site map with all the films which is fully compliant with the standards setup by Sitemap.org
What film was it?
if I submit zorron, (very very later) it has allot of profanity in the film, and by far the most violence you have ever scene. would it get excepted?
There are swearing and violence icons that indicate the levels of profanity, etc that are in the film
I don't know how practical this would be to implement, but it'd be a nice touch to have a "Share" feature, which could then allow the user to email a link, post it to Facebook, etc.

There's still a link where the post-it note for the Directory was.
Well this is just a suggestion: I would like to be able to view members film by clicking on their channel and then a link to all their videos!
You mean a link to their films in the directory?
Yeah we had that on BF and it was a nice feature.
